Agra details

Agra city prevails as a hotspot of the Golden Triangle Circuit. The city being only 203 kms from the national capital enjoys a good status for its tourist attractions.Agra city is formed of several townships that possesses almost all the accessories of modern life style together with the traditional values.These townships or areas are connected with a series of roads and railway lines that run through the entire length and breadth of the city.
Towards east and on the right of river Yamuna lies the region of Etmadpur. The place is connected with the city mainland by Agra By-Pass Road in the north-east and the Yamuna Bridge in the eastern part of the city. A major portion of Agra city lies towards the left of river Yamuna. In the northern region we have Dayal Bagh (an extension of Agra city), Civil Lines, Khandari and Sikandra which forms the apical north-western part of the city. The city center consists of the area of Loha Mandi, Mantola and Shahganj. The southern region is dominated by Idgah, Rakabganj and Tajganj which forms the south-eastern part of the city. There is a vast network of roads that facilitate the transportation within the city premises.

How to Reach Agra?

By Plane:

Kingfisher Airlines started a flight which connects Agra to Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur.

By Train:

Agra is on the main train line between Delhi (Station Code: NDLS) and Mumbai (Station Code: CSTM) and between Delhi and Chennai (Station Code: MAS) and many trains connect Agra with these cities every day.

Agra Cantt (Station Code : AGC):

It is the main railway station and lies southwest of the Taj and Agra Fort, both of which are a short ride from the station by car, auto-rickshaw, or cycle rickshaw. There's a prepaid taxi stand right outside that charges a flat Rs.120 to any hotel in the city.The station has a pretty good Comesum food court that also sells cheap, hygienic takeaway snacks (sandwiches, samosas, etc).

Agra Fort (Station Code : AF):

This is near Agra Fort, is infrequently serviced by the interstate express trains. The station serves trains to the east ( Kanpur , Gorakhpur , Kolkata) some of these trains also stop at Agra Cantt.
